Christmas and New Years

I couldn't think of a better way to begin the Holiday Season then to put Mikayla into my first Christmas dress. It was to small, but she wouldn't let me take it off. So, to church she went in a shirt length dress and tights. She could have starred in the Brady Bunch.
This is just because I'm OCD or something. I couldn't stand to have a half decorated tree in pictures on Christmas. I wanted a pretty tree in pictures, so I decorated the tree Christmas Eve after kids went to bed.

Before picture.

After picture.

And I also made almost all the ornaments on the tree. I liked how it turned out. I wasn't finished, but didn't have the money to finish it because Ben spent it on a speeding ticket. So selfish.
Christmas morning was so much fun. I love being the mom and being able to create the magic of Christmas! Best picture of what the kids woke up to. Santa brought them bikes! What was he thinking!?! It hasn't been to bad. I just take them to an available unit and let them ride around inside it. Christmas was wonderful! I'm a little sad that's over with. Christmas is like child birth. You forget the pain and can't wait to do it again next year.

To bring in the new year, Ben and I played games then went to bed. Mikayla kept us awake all night with night terrors. So, we still got to enjoy the fireworks at midnight. We are so excited for this year and the changes it will bring!!

David jumping in his toy from Santa. It was given to us and Ben was so excited to give him something 'big' since the girls got bikes. I was excited that we didn't send money on more baby stuff that we're starting to get rid of. David loves it!

Learning New Things

This year has been a very enlightening one so far. We have all learned something new.

David has learned how to grab my egg roll off my plate and get it to his mouth with amazing baby speed. He LOVES to eat.

Mikayla has learned how to say, "no" to everything, "kick" for when she is doing that, and "go" for 'go away'. Hmmm...something peculiar is going on in our house.

Brianna has figured out how to turn the Wii on and find her favorite game of running with the puppy. Add that to her list of electronics (Nintendo DS, DVD player, little TV, big TV, PS3, camera, electric piano, and now the Nintendo Wii) she can work and Mikayla's new words suddenly make sense.

Ben now knows that there are no springs in some box spring mattress. Weird.

As for me, it's random, but so is Ben's. I learned that Daddy Long Legs are considered arachnids (knew that), but are not considered spiders (did not know that) because they have no venom and don't make silk (knew that). Very fascinating.

I sure hope everyone is growing and learning new things this year. We sure are!
