We Had Our Ultrasound Today!

We are elated and feel incredibly blessed to say that our coming baby is healthy and growing beautifully! August is just not coming fast enough for us.

And we still don't know the gender.

I'm Very Discouraged Right Now

Mikayla has started wanting to walk outside, but we don't have any shoes that fit her. It's amazing. We have a diaper box full of baby shoes ranging in sizes from newborn to 7 and NOTHING fits her. She wears a size three, but her feet are to fat to get any of them on and size four is to big, she walks out of them.

At nine months she weighed around 17 lbs and was 27 inches. At one year she weighed a solid 20 lbs and was 27 1/4 inches. Needless to say we have a chunky baby wearing 18 months to 2t clothes. This is random, but Brianna and Mikayla have the same waist size.

Lately Ben has been letting her walk outside, barefoot. However, he doesn't care about what is on the ground like snow or rain or how cold the ground is. I more compassionately pile on the socks and let her go, but for the most part we fight her and carry her.

With warmer weather and more family outings this is becoming a hassle. So, this past weekend and today I have been looking for sandals for her. I have been to walmart, babies'r'us, target, shopko, burlington coat factory, and online to kmart, sears, and kohls and I haven't found anything that fits for under $15 dollars. If the sandal does not have velcro over the toes, I can't get her feet in them. Period. Some of the stores just didn't have any size three sandals. Some sandals I found had heals or were really heavy and Mikayla could barely lift her foot. Others cost more than $15 dollars. Who spends that on baby shoes? Oh wait we probably will. Tonight I'm headed to a supercenter walmart and old navy. hopefully I have some luck.

Shoe shopping for Mikayla is very discouraging and frustrating. Grrr...

Hooray for March!

I am incredibly excited that it is March because I am sooo ready for warm weather. I'm tired of coats, jackets, sweaters, socks, shoes, slippers and Ben is very tired of pants. He prefers to wear shorts ten months out of the year. I got him several pairs of pants for Christmas thinking I would hem some into shorts, but he likes them all as pants and was very excited to own more then one pair of pants, so he doesn't own any shorts and we're waiting for them to appear in stores. Let us know if you see any at any store. Thanks.

That was not planned as my blog, but whatever. Now for the other reason for this post. With warmer weather comes picnics. I LOVE picnics! I thought I would randomly share my favorite sandwich. I call it a Turkey Apple Sandwich. Hey, I'm really creative in the names I come up with. I should name crayons for a living. I've got wood brown and Dora backpack purple. I'm good.

To make a fabulous Turkey Apple Sandwich you need:
bread, turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and apple. You can leave the lettuce and tomato off, still yummy.
Condiments needed:
Miracle Whip, mustard, sometimes I like to drizzle honey on it.

I love apples on my sandwiches. Ben thinks its weird, but Brianna likes this sandwich, too.

No Bug on the Window Story

Well, Ben thinks there are more exciting or better things to blog about then the insect on our window (weird), so perhaps another time I'll share, but for now I'm onto the list Ben gave me.
Brianna has founded her own club house in our kitchen cupboards. I think I'll call it the baby spoon club. To join just bring all your baby dolls and spoons. Brianna is the only member so far. Since she has already taken all our spoons and dolls. Cereal with a fork is fun!
For my Birthday my wonderful, amazing husband got me a piano! I was so excited, but that quickly ended when I realized that every time I played I would have a kitchen chair to each side of me and be fighting more hands than I have, not to push the buttons. Irritatingly, Ben can play forever and be left alone. He has gotten really good at playing. As for me, lets just say I play a phenomenal Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

And the biggest news is... Mikayla started walking the day before her birthday! The video was taken the day after, on the 23nd.

Yeah, just turn your head as you watch.
