On Febuary 22 at 4:36 PM Mikayla was born. Her weight was 7.2 and she was 20" long. You forget how small they come until you get one again. And now our little Brianna seems so big. Labor started at 1:00 and unfortunately for Tami the epidural did not kick in until they removed the needle. So she went natural until it was all done, then she was numb for hours starting AFTER the birth. Brianna is a big help, she definatly loves her new sister!

Bubbles
Last saturday we went to a ward activity and played games. Someone brought bubbles for the younger childred. Brianna was immediately drawn to the bubbles. A four year old boy named Charle decided he would teach Brianna how to blow bubbles. After he told her how to blow bubbles, he very confidently gave her her own bubbles to blow. I thought it wasn't a good idea and that it would make a huge mess, but Charle was adament that she could do it. So I let her blow her own bubbles and to my surprise she did really good. She was very careful not to spill and when she blew on the stick bubbles came out. She was so excited and proud of herself. It amazes me how capable she is in doing things herself.

Any Time Now
At my last doctor appointment I asked about being induced on the 28th because I really do not want a leap year baby. Well Ben and my doctor then started talking about all of my options for what day to be induced. The two of them picked a day that was convenient for the two of them. I was not involved in the decision as to which day. I asked the doctor if we could think about it for a week and he replied that that would not work because induction times fill in fast before the 29th. Apparently, even though almost everyone tells me it would be fun to have a leap year baby, no one really wants one. After we left the appointment I complained to Ben about having not been involved in the choices they made. Ben very confidently reassured me that the induction date did not matter because he believes that now that we have an induction date our baby could come any time and that I will definitely go into labor on my own. So according to Ben I'm ready to pop. (The truth is I will most likely be in the hospital on the day they picked.)
