We Have a One Year Old!

Mikayla had her first birthday yesterday! Those nine months seem to last forever, then in a flash they're having birthdays. It was so much fun. When it was cake time, she just ate the M&Ms and then was done with the cake. We love our sweet little Mikayla.

We Got New Fish (again)

Here is the mentioned picture of our big fish snuggling with a smaller fish. This also shows how they sleep.

Sadly, our beautiful fish passed away last night. It developed septicemia. We tried several things, including medicine drops to help it get better, but to no avail. We had this fish longer than we've had Brianna. We decided it was best to talk to her about it since she has seen this fish everyday of her life.

We had a little talk with my amazing aids (sick fish in aquarium and picture of Jesus in Heaven). She got mad at first when the fish didn't live with us anymore and put it back on the paper. She had to watch Ben take care of everything and we let her. She really seems okay with everything. Not sure how much she understands about death, but that will come with time.

After watching Ben clean the aquarium and get it ready for the next inhabitants they went to the pet store to get more fish. They picked two of the guppy looking goldfish and brought them home. Brianna likes the new fish.

Valentines Day!

My wife threw mw a Great Valentines day! It all started out with my fav. breakfast that consisted of: Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, with Biskets and Gravey! Then we relaxed and snacked on chocolate covered strawberries, followed by a wonderfull lasagnia and cake! (pictured above) The cake was sugar free. I mever knew sugar free could taste so good! I also got a game called "Truth , Dare, or Chocolate" That we played later that night and Tami won ;)

Saturday Night Conversation

Okay, so I LOVE having conversations with Brianna when there is no yelling, commanding, crying, or getting an attitude with me.

Brianna: I had fun with my new friends.
me: I'm glad you had fun.
Brianna: Yeah, my new friends no punch me in the face.
me: They didn't punch you in the face? That's good.
Brianna: I love my new friends and they no hit me in the face.
me: I love your new friends too.
Brianna: I love my new friends too.

We had the Frisby family over for dinner on Saturday evening. Brianna had so much fun playing with their two adorable boys. Ben and I are incredibly grateful for Brianna being able to play with cousins and actually interact with them. We had fun too! Thank you for coming over!

New Fishes

Saturday, Brianna and I went shopping for more fish. Brianna was very excited. She got to carry the bag and hold it on the drive home. Our big fish (maybe we should name it?) has never been a mean fish, but what it started doing surprised us. When older goldfish sleep, they simply rest on the rocks below. Looks kind of weird. Anyhow, our big fish likes to snuggle with the smaller fish when they sleep. Pictures to come soon, maybe. We have five fishes. Can you find all five?

HERES AN EASY ONE TO GET YOU STARTED!

We Got a New Fish House!!!

Ben's daddy bought our fish a new aquarium. We were so excited, but not nearly as excited as the fish was. In our 1 gallon aquarium the fish usually just sat in the corner. Mainly because it had to bend in half to turn around. We think our fish is really happy because it does nothing, but swim around now. We love our new aquarium. Thank you!

On the drive over to pick the aquarium up we had an interesting conversation with Brianna...

Brianna: I'm sacred. I go home.

Me: Scared of what?

Brianna: The dinosaurs come get me and eat me all done. I go home to be safe.

Ben: Dinosaurs?

Brianna: Dinosaurs eat me all done.

Ben: Well, can we go be safe at Emalee's house?

Brianna: Yes. Hurray before dinosaurs get me.

Me: Okay, we'll hurray fast.

Brianna: Okay.

Weird. We have no idea of what she saw to think dinosaurs would eat her.

A few days ago Brianna got a hold of our camera and took LOTS of pictures. About 60 pictures before we got the camera back. I think she might be a little artsy. She can do so much and we absolutely love getting to know her better every day!
