Trip to the Zoo!

On saturday we went to the zoo with Stephanie and Bradley with their two adorable boys Peter and Johnathan. It was so much fun to watch the kids' reactions to all the animals. Especially them seeing the elephants. It was a wonderful way to spend the day.

My Amazing Husband!

It occurred to me a few days ago that I have devoted 7 years of my life to my husband. That is almost a third of my life. Well I told my husband that yesterday morning and that he needed to start treating me better. He already treats me great and I didn't think he could do better, but he surprised me last night! He took me out to dinner and then we had a nice evening at home.

We decided to get dessert last night and we ordered cake with ice cream topped with a chocolate shell. When it arrived at the table Brianna got this look of sheer excitment and said, "ice cream with chocolate." It was so fun to watch her reaction. Mikayla seemed to enjoy herself aswell. She did a lot of looking around and then slept through the night.

I am extremely thankful that we have an eternal marriage. I can't imagine living one day without my wonderful husband and two beautiful girls.

First Hair Cut

Neither of my kids were born with lots of hair. Mikayla had the most, but it was a far cry from the thick luscious baby hair I wanted her to have. Brianna was born with that thin barely visible blonde hair, on the verge of being plain out bald. About the only time you could see it was when it was wet. But now at the age of two she has finally grown quite the mullet and it was time for her very first hair cut.

However, it was easier said then done. Brianna runs from me screaming and crying at the very sight of a hair brush. When I do succeed in brushing it, I get a constant ouch, ouch, ouch. Until I'm finished. So, yes. I resorted to bribery to get her to sit still. She got a cupcake and to watch an episode of Spongebob Squarepants. I cut about two inches off the bottom.

Smiles!

Mikayla has finally started smiling socially! It is extremely wonderful to get smiles back instead of scowls. Nothing gets smiles from her like Brianna's dancing. I love my girls!

Show for the Toys!

A few days ago I ran downstairs and was gone only five minutes and when I came back upstairs I found this. Brianna had pulled all the cushions off the couch and laid them on the floor for an obstacle course. She had also put her toys out as an audience. It was so cute to see. I don't know where she learned to do it because I have never done that with her before.
