Ever since waking up in Emalee's room on January 15 (emergence room trip night) Brianna has been begging to have another sleepover with Grandma and Emalee. Well, everytime we go over and visit she asks if she can stay and sleepover. She has had four sleepovers with them and I think she would prefer to live with them.
While living at my parents' house cousins Connor ( he came more often) and Gordon would come over for sleepovers and Brianna LOVED it. When my sister inlaw visited with her son Chase, Brianna was thrilled.
This past week when Connor was left with Scott for a surprise sleepover I had mixed feelings over it not being us. I was glad I didn't have to deal with putting him to bed, but Brianna would have been so incredibly excited. So I would have gladly dealt with putting him to bed.
Knowing Brianna really wanted a sleepover we surprised her with one. We put her mattress in our room for the night to have a sleepover with us. She was so happy to finally have a sleepover.

Way to go Ben!!
I’d like to take this time out to award myself as “Best Blogger of 2008″. You know, looking back it was a really tough choice!! I couldn’t help but feel biased during deliberation…. but…. it really just seemed like the right thing to do. I’d like to thank myself for this award. I’d also like to thank Al Gore for inventing the Internet. Please do not think this award will inhibit the quality of my future posts.

We're Ready for a New Year
End of December I began experiencing (I'm guessing) pregnancy related symptoms. Including the normal nausea and vomiting and the not so normal side affect of sleeping 15 to 18 hours everyday. I could barely function during this. There were times that I would be going upstairs and sat in the middle to rest and fell asleep. I would also collapse from sheer exhaustion on the floor, couch, kitchen table, and bed. I was starting to feel a little better when Brianna started cutting a tooth. This tooth came in the wrong spot and caused a LOT of pain and discomfort to her. We had just finished dealing with these and were starting to recover when...
Mikayla started throwing up. Later that same day Ben started in on it. For the next two days this went on for, then Brianna started throwing up. I joined everyone later that day. Such fun. But Mikayla and Ben were doing better. They were just severely nauseated and not eating. Oh yeah, none of us were sleeping through this. After a few days Brianna and I were the severely nauseated ones, while the other two were experiencing debilitating stomach pains. Then it was our turn for the pain. Ben and I figured that Brianna and I were on our last night of stomach cramps/pain when...
Mikayla started fussing all night and day for 1 or 2 days. Then she started screaming all night and day for 3 or 4 days. She wasn't eating and she obviously wasn't sleeping. Well, none of us were sleeping. A few people I talked to said she was teething, but I didn't believe it. I had my own suspicions of what was wrong. I suspected her poop was building up in her. The doctor suggested a suppository after I convinced him that she really WAS NOT teething, but he had his doubts and said it was probably a virus (he checked her mouth). We tried the suppository and she pooped a lot and seemed better. Then she stopped peeing (for almost 24 hours) and the screaming began again. A quick (ha ha) trip to the ER last night confirmed that I was right. Miklayla was so packed full of poop that it was beginning to fill her intestines, which were in turn spasming and causing horrible pain to Mikayla. Wow, right now my daughter is literally full of crap. The ER doctor proscribed her a laxative that will hopefully clean her out soon. This probably didn't warrant an ER visit, but because of Mikayla's age and symptoms the InstaCare turned her away.
We are so ready for things to settle down so we can aleast sleep at night. Thank you to all those who came and gave us countless blessings. We very much appreciated it and sincerely hope you do not get what we had.

My Peculiar Compliment
Last Saturday I went grocery shopping. It was one of the more exciting trips. Brianna was standing in the basket, while Mikayla was at the time sitting. During some of the cart ride she would pull her self up and stand with Brianna. Good thing there was the car in front to put the groceries in.
I was in the check out with people behind me (go figure). It was an elderly couple with their middle aged daughter. They spoke another language and English with a neat accent.
Here is how the conversation went...
Daughter: How old is the little one?
me: Ten months.
Daughter: Ten Months? And sitting already!
me: yeah.
Daughter: Wow! That is good. Really good. Good job mom!
me: Thanks.
Perhaps it would have been better had Mikayla stood up in the cart. Oh, well. I still thought it was a weird reaction to a ten month old sitting.
