I'm Ready to Talk About it
Yesterday I took Brianna to the dentist to be told some disappointing news. Unfortunately, our oldest kid needs a lot of work done.
First thing to fix:
She has fused teeth. Two teeth have fused together to create one large tooth. What will they do to fix it? Saw them apart. Just Kidding. Where there should be a gap, there is a slight line/groove in the teeth so they will fill it in and make it smooth. The dentist said if they don't, kids with fused teeth tend to get cavities there because there is no way to clean it unless I take a pick and scrape it out twice a day. He also said it's common, but I've never heard of it before. These or maybe this tooth is the tooth I've mentioned in previous posts about not looking right as it cut and about causing a lot of difficulty when it finally did cut. Wonder how losing it will go?
Second thing to fix:
Her top middle teeth in front. Shortly after they fully cut they developed a stain in front. I didn't think it was normal, but it never brushed off so I just figured it was just her teeth. After talking to the dentist he explained that they developed without the first layer of enamel and that her two teeth are deteriorating and will eventually fall out. To prevent further deterioration of the teeth they plan on coating them with the filling substance. Another thing I've never heard of, but my mother-in-law has. She had a daughter with similar problems and was told that this is a birth defect. I'm just hoping that her adult teeth are 100% developed and normal.
Third thing to fix:
I'm so embarrassed and feel like a really not good mom, but she has a cavity. It is huge. The dentist said if we had not taken her in when we did, we could be facing a root canal with her. I feel horrible about it. The dentist tried to make me feel better by saying its a really deep pit, you couldn't have kept the food out, but I still feel really guilty over it. My mother-in-law suggested that from the birth defect mentioned above, all her teeth could be affected and she may be prone to cavities. But that still didn't make me feel better about it, mainly because I know what my daughter will have to go through to fix it.
Perhaps that isn't a lot of work, but when its on a three year old I think it is. And I'm really sad about it all. I was going to post a picture of Brianna's teeth, but she fell asleep before I took the picture, so maybe tomorrow I'll get it posted.

Doctor Appointment
Since I've never posted about previous appointments I thought I would today. Mainly because I know everyone is dying to know how things are going. So here it is:
Baby is head down. Could be temporary with how earlier it is.
Heard the heartbeat. That's always spectacular.
Brianna and I each got a sucker!
Exciting stuff.

Good News
I thought I would end the day with listing some of the things I'm grateful for.
Brianna has been accident free for over a month!
Mikayla drinks from regular cups. Hooray no more bottles!
Ben just made Brianna's Birthday invites for me.
I've finished several items of doll furniture.
My sister came for a visit.
I don't have gestational diabetes. Bring on the desserts!
Heartburn medicine.
There's more I'm grateful for, but I'm headed to bed now. And I'm still bitter about not getting a hair cut, but okay with everything else.

What a Week
The week started out great with the girls and I finally waking up and feeling better from our colds Monday morning. I spent the morning telling Ben how good I felt and I guess he decided it was a good time to let me know that Exit Real Estate dues were due the Friday before. Not a small chunk of change, but we came up with the money and paid them.
Then I discovered that the wireless Internet adapter stopped functioning Sunday night. I can't move the Internet thing to the computer because its connected to the Xbox, the Wii, and the PS3, so the computer goes the Internet thing. To use the Internet we have cords going across the front room. Not ideal since the girls like to crawl between the cords, but they only do it when I'm on the computer. Right now, Ben took them to the post office and bank.
Monday afternoon I found 3 teeny, tiny tomatoes on one of our plants. I was so excited that I took everyone outside to see them and made a few phone calls to announce it. That was short lived. We got home late Tuesday night to see that the storm had beat them all off. Our plants are now empty of tomatoes. And from all the rain our zucchini plant is dying, perhaps dead. Maybe if I had a yard to water I would be grateful for all the rain, but I'm not so much.
Wednesday while I was driving Ariel to the airport we heard a continuous tone. Nothing on the idiot board lit up so we started turning things off. The air compressor for our AC went. Not sure when (if ever) we'll be able to afford to fix that. Thankfully nothing vital broke on our car.
Yesterday I was going to get my hair cut, but don't have the money for that. Ben offered to use the saw attachment on his pocket knife to cut it. I haven't agreed to it yet, but if I do pictures will be coming.
I'm trying hard to focus on the positive this last week, but I'm struggling. I really wanted those tomatoes and the hair cut. Now that I've complained I feel petty for being annoyed and focusing on such trivial things.

More Cousins?
Last night I was putting Brianna to bed when we had an interesting conversation. The entire conversation lasted 30 or so minutes. She would just not quit talking to me and let me leave, but anyhow, this is the end of that long conversation.
Brianna: I love grandma. I love Emalee. I love Thomas (I think because he gives her chocolate). I love grandpa.
me: What about Matthew?
Brianna: I love Matthew.
me: He comes home from his mission soon.
Brianna: Yeah, and Scott comes home soon too.
me: Scott is already home. Steven comes home soon.
Brianna: Oh yeah. Steven and Matthew come home soon and give me more cousins to play with.
me: That will be fun.
Brianna: Yes that will be so fun. I'm so excited. More Cousins. Awesome.
Sometimes I wonder what goes through her head, but I sure do enjoy what comes out her mouth, occasionally.

Catch Up
I haven't been real good at blogging lately, but I did take pictures or had ideas of things to blog and then I just didn't. I'm going to catch up on some of the pictures I took.
Ben is gone most nights, so I'm in charge of bed time. I was in the office closing when I came back to this. Both girls had fallen asleep! I put them in bed and had the entire evening to myself. Ben got home around nine that night then both woke up and I went to bed.
I can't remember why I took this picture. Yep, that's snot. Family memories right here.
I just love all my nephews and one niece. I'm thinking a sleepover with some when I'm over this stupid head cold.
